Hey y'all! As I said last blog I'm free of the obligations with old tapes and events and everythin to catch up on and write about (I know there's another new tape but keep your mouth shut, I'll get to it when I get to it). For now, I wanted to talk about one interesting thing from the whole Founders Day craziness. That one historian, Tony Watman, answered some questions from the investigators and he mentioned some old Walker Creek legends. He mentioned Oliver Deercot, the voice from the Lake, Sanders deal, Barlowe Manor, and the Ramsey Summoners Legend. There might be a few more I'm forgetting but that's a good list to start.
I know he gave y'all info on the Ramsey legend but it wasn't exactly the way I heard it. His was more of an actual legend with more vague details to keep it more realistic. The one I knew when I was younger was a horror story to scare little kids. It had a bit about the cultists kidnapping/killing miners for the ritual, the 'flame god' being the actual devil, cultists being melted to death as a punishment, and Walerton going insane afterwards. Not a surprise that they twisted the legend to be a religious story over time. Seems like Walerton is back to the original meaning more or less though. I guess that's how these legends and folk tales and...what do you call them? Cryptids? That's the term that internet people are using for some of this stuff. Anyway, that's just how they are I guess. And look folks, I know that there's no legend that can beat the actual real life skinwalkers running around Walker creek but I think it could still be fun to talk about some of these. So, over the next few weeks I'll go over those legends one by one and tell you what I know about 'em. Some of 'em I barely know, some of 'em I know the whole thing. We'll see how it goes. My versions might not be the most accurate or truthful if you ask Mr. Watman but they'll definitely be entertaining. So that's where this blog is heading for now. Back to actual memories of Walker creek. I hope y'all are going to enjoy this! See you folks next time. - Trevor

Hey y'all! In case you missed it, there was a tape from Daniel earlier this month. "Guide to Newcomers". I know it sorta got lost with Founders Day and all the shit with Adam but I still wanna just give my general thoughts on it.
It starts out pretty standard, talking about paperwork, important shops, entertainment, and whatever else. A few bits of weird skinwalker bullshit here and there but nothing too crazy. My store even got a reference in the early part, not that I remember them asking or telling me about it at the time. It doesn't matter I guess, just interesting to see. After that, things get weird, like they always do. Mainly I want to talk about the 5 R's in the tape, because I actually have heard of that but just never knew what they were. It was the kind of thing that I overheard in other peoples conversations. "Remember to follow the 5 R's" or whatever. I guess those were Hosted talking and I didn't even realize. Never bothered to find out since I'd never gotten in trouble for breaking them, whatever they were. I remember once I asked someone what they were and they said it was just part of the hosting program. That was a good enough answer for me but looking at it now, I probably should have paid more attention. So the first one was return prey to the Home. We knew about that but I do want to just say that it looks like the Denton rainwater areas there. Back in...I guess the 70's after the 1973 flooding, they did a whole project to build these drainage areas throughout the main living areas. So around Main Street in Walker Creek, and through most of Denton. They had to raise taxes and do a fundraiser and everything but it was pretty widely supported by all the folks in the county. They're basically just big ditches that lead down into a sewer system or....something like that. I made clothes not construction projects so don't blame me if I'm wrong. I'm sure there's information about that kind of thing online. Anyway, my point is that it's probably Denton. Number two was respect the elder ones. Looks like they're important but I mean, if y'all don't know what they are after months of investigating then I can't help. Like everything else, I have a vague recollection of 'em being mentioned when I lived in Walker Creek. But not much to go on. The lake being shown is weird though. It's gotta be Lake Denton but I don't know why. Unless...maybe it's related to the voice from the lake story? Huh. I'll have to think on that one. A story for another time. Third one, repent to the Harvest Star, there's really nothing to talk about there. Four, report host surfacing, just makes me sad. Poor Luke. Going into this whole VHS tape mystery hunt thing, I never thought that this random missing persons case stuck in the back of my mind would get light shed on it. But here we are, watching Delor go through hell, not being able to do a thing about it. I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll see him. The last one was about how they make more of their kind. Those worms are unsettling little bastards. Well...not so little to be honest. I can't really place where that part happened. Maybe Ramsey somewhere? The building looked like more than one floor but it's hard to tell. Could have been Main street too since it was an alleyway. Doesn't matter though. I do wonder who those people were though. The host and the one putting the worm in. That also doesn't really matter though. Overall, another creepy tape that I will never get out of my head. On a lighter note though, I'm caught up on everything. I really wanna tell some stories about Walker creek that aren't about the investigation so I'll be doing that real soon. I know there's a new tape from Daniel soon, he told me on one of our phone calls. I'll do a blog for that too obviously. Remember, if y'all need something I'm only an email or tweet away. - Trevor |
