Hey y'all! In case you missed it, there was a tape from Daniel earlier this month. "Guide to Newcomers". I know it sorta got lost with Founders Day and all the shit with Adam but I still wanna just give my general thoughts on it.
It starts out pretty standard, talking about paperwork, important shops, entertainment, and whatever else. A few bits of weird skinwalker bullshit here and there but nothing too crazy. My store even got a reference in the early part, not that I remember them asking or telling me about it at the time. It doesn't matter I guess, just interesting to see. After that, things get weird, like they always do. Mainly I want to talk about the 5 R's in the tape, because I actually have heard of that but just never knew what they were. It was the kind of thing that I overheard in other peoples conversations. "Remember to follow the 5 R's" or whatever. I guess those were Hosted talking and I didn't even realize. Never bothered to find out since I'd never gotten in trouble for breaking them, whatever they were. I remember once I asked someone what they were and they said it was just part of the hosting program. That was a good enough answer for me but looking at it now, I probably should have paid more attention. So the first one was return prey to the Home. We knew about that but I do want to just say that it looks like the Denton rainwater areas there. Back in...I guess the 70's after the 1973 flooding, they did a whole project to build these drainage areas throughout the main living areas. So around Main Street in Walker Creek, and through most of Denton. They had to raise taxes and do a fundraiser and everything but it was pretty widely supported by all the folks in the county. They're basically just big ditches that lead down into a sewer system or....something like that. I made clothes not construction projects so don't blame me if I'm wrong. I'm sure there's information about that kind of thing online. Anyway, my point is that it's probably Denton. Number two was respect the elder ones. Looks like they're important but I mean, if y'all don't know what they are after months of investigating then I can't help. Like everything else, I have a vague recollection of 'em being mentioned when I lived in Walker Creek. But not much to go on. The lake being shown is weird though. It's gotta be Lake Denton but I don't know why. Unless...maybe it's related to the voice from the lake story? Huh. I'll have to think on that one. A story for another time. Third one, repent to the Harvest Star, there's really nothing to talk about there. Four, report host surfacing, just makes me sad. Poor Luke. Going into this whole VHS tape mystery hunt thing, I never thought that this random missing persons case stuck in the back of my mind would get light shed on it. But here we are, watching Delor go through hell, not being able to do a thing about it. I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll see him. The last one was about how they make more of their kind. Those worms are unsettling little bastards. Well...not so little to be honest. I can't really place where that part happened. Maybe Ramsey somewhere? The building looked like more than one floor but it's hard to tell. Could have been Main street too since it was an alleyway. Doesn't matter though. I do wonder who those people were though. The host and the one putting the worm in. That also doesn't really matter though. Overall, another creepy tape that I will never get out of my head. On a lighter note though, I'm caught up on everything. I really wanna tell some stories about Walker creek that aren't about the investigation so I'll be doing that real soon. I know there's a new tape from Daniel soon, he told me on one of our phone calls. I'll do a blog for that too obviously. Remember, if y'all need something I'm only an email or tweet away. - Trevor

Hey y'all! It's been a while. A lot has happened especially with Daniel but it seems like everything is fine so far. Hopefully it stays that way. Just watch your back y'all. Anyway, good job on that community event thing and finding the report on Lambert. I never cared much for Founders day after I moved away in '89 but it's nice to see it still being celebrated.
Onto the point of this post though. I've talked about Lambert for a while on this blog now, but I haven't talked details like that report did. And believe me, that report is fishy as hell. Not gonna ramble on about it too much but I just wanna go over some inaccuracies. If you wanna read it for yourself then go here: sites.google.com/view/walkercreektourism-n-iah/report-on-james-lambert 1. There was no rally against Joel Deckard in June. As far as I remember, there was a speech by Lambert where the crowd started shit talking Deckard and that was it. Could be wrong about this but the rallys all happened in rapid succession in July as far as I remember. 2. The rallies against Deckard weren't out of pocket attacks for no reason like that report makes it seem like. Can't believe I'm defending that son of a bitch Lambert but the rallies only started after Deckard started trashing Lambert in the local paper. And not in a politician bullshit indirect way either, but just plainly insulting him. 3. Nobody died in the fights between the supporters. That's ridiculous. 4. Lambert's construction projects weren't all secretive and didn't come out of nowhere. At least, most of 'em. I remember clear as day that the apartment building was planned even before he was elected. Part of his whole "Walker Creek...expansion initiative (?)" I think that's what it was called, I just remember the WCEI acronym so I'm guessing here). But it was a whole big plan long before the election took place, including the Tourism Bureau founding and apartment building and mall and I think the ice skating rink too. 5. The Kayak Race budget was low but people weren't really disappointed. It was fine the way it was. That's about all I can remember for the inaccuracies. Seems to me like the Tour Guide was bending some of the facts. Not enough to be called out for their bullshit but enough that it made Lambert look even worse. Wasn't really necessary in my opinion, he already looked like an incompetent goddamn idiot but I guess better safe than sorry if you're trying to take over. Anyway, might do another blog post soon on the last tape from Daniel so I'm caught up but I'll see about that one. Have a good day y'all. - Trevor One thing that I have barely talked about on this here blog is all of the modern events in Walker creek. The reason is that well, I'm not in town for those events. It's 'memories of walker creek' not 'current events of walker creek', but I think I should still talk about it anyway. Especially with all the Media Archive stuff about it. Obviously, there's been a rise in rebel activity again. David Trenson in the 80's wasn't the end. Nowadays we've got Nathaniel Topas and Thomas Abernathy and "Sanders", plus others we've never heard of. And they're actually getting shit done. There was that observatory attack a while ago where they seemed to be pretty successful with whatever they were doing. There was that rebel, Thomas, that got captured. I feel bad for him, and anyone that has to deal with the skinwalkers. They're terrifying sons of bitches, I'll give 'em that. I've complained about them and their shit plenty of times on this blog but to be honest, seeing those hijackings and things like that from Topas gives me some hope that these Hosted will get what they deserve. It's the most successful rebellion so far, right? That's gotta count for something. They're right that people aren't free in Walker Creek, and they're the best chance at fixing that. If I was a younger man maybe I'd go try to help them out. But not nowadays.
I'll stop ranting about the rebellion to talk about other stuff. Mainly, Adam and the Tour Guide and whoever else. The Tour Guide wasn't really known publicly in my time, or if they were I just wasn't payin' attention. But they seem like a complete asshole. I know Adam does too but at least he's got some humanity. The Tour guide doesn't seem to have any. I would feel bad for the treatment Adam gets but I can't pity someone that tortures and kills humans for some alien plan. And speaking of that plan, there was that video of the Harvest Star. Pretty interesting to me since I never got to see it in '89. As you might know, I moved away a few months before it because of Julia's death. Just to say the obvious, that ain't a star. Or if it is, it's the weirdest star I've ever seen. I know that it's a conclusion we all figured out already but I just wanted to say it. Besides that, there's the Speaker message. He sounds like the priest I visited when I was a kid. He preached about the same shit, just without the direct references to the Harvest Star and Hosted like the Speaker did. Also, Sam Jones seems like he would be a good mayor if it wasn't for him being a goddamn alien. As a final note, the Lambert report was...weird. There's a few things that don't make sense to me but I'll do a short blog about that soon. Anyway, I'm finally done with the media archive breakdowns. If there's anything I missed or anything specific to talk about then tweet me or email me! - Trevor It's been a while, but it's time to continue with my context-giving blogs about the Media Archive (and hopefully finish it, I have some stories I wanna tell y'all). In this post, I'll be going over the 1980's posts. Question though...does anyone even read these anymore? Haven't seen y'all talk about even a single one of 'em in a while. Just let me know what you wanna see.
Anyway, going over the archive posts from the 1980's, we have the 4 TV hijackings, 3 radio hijackings, Ederson's execution, and the Luke Delor picture. I'm gonna just lump all the hijackings into one paragraph. But basically, I didn't see or hear any of these. I already explained why I didn't watch the WCBS much in a previous post. I heard people talking about 'em,but that's it. When the first one came on, people just played it off as some stupid prank. Creepy text on a plain background like that, it was some sort of amateur prank or a joke by the WCBS operators. The second one, people just thought it was just some teen delinquent messing around. Side note, the Lake Denton Kayak Race that the main program was about was a pretty lame one. My favorite team was the Lake Dwellers and it was not a good year for them. Anyway...that third hijacking was the one that really hit people. Seeing Luke and all that. I've talked about the 3rd and 4th hijacking before since they were on Daniel's channel but...that's when some people started taking it more seriously. Some still completely ignored them but some actually did start paying attention. That's where the radio hijackings come in too. Trenson went on there, did a little speech before he got kicked off by the radio operators, then just did it again a few weeks later. This went on for basically a whole year. Convinced a lotta people. Again, I didn't pay attention because of the situation with my shop and Julia and everything else in my life, but I heard it from a lot of the folks I talked to. Any crumb of drama in town was something that everyone heard about it, so I got information over time. It was a bit...harsh in my opinion, sorta scares people off unless they're really extreme. Maybe that's why it failed. Besides that, there was the Ederson execution video too. Same as Daniel's version but with the audio still there. The Tour Guide...what a goddamn mysterious person. And really, what is the reason? It just feels unnecessarily dramatic. Still sad to see Ederson go like that though...he was a good candidate. And then just to end this off real quick, there is that picture of Luke dead on the ground. Well, I say "dead", I guess it was some sort of Host body that was...shed. Those worms are confusing little bastards but at the same time, every animal is if you look deep enough. Learned enough about the game in Walker Creek that it's not too surprising. Seeing Luke always upsets me though. Kid didn't deserve what happened to him and it's just....cruel. Anyway, that's all I got. Sorry if it feels like my heart's not really in this one, but I'm just forcing myself through to finish up this media archive shit and go back to telling stories that y'all will hopefully enjoy, unlike these I guess. Might post the 2000's media archive blog today just to get it over with. - Trevor Hey y'all, it's been a few weeks. Hopefully everyone saw Daniel's new tape.
Obviously the most important part of that tape was not my advertisement. The more important part was the community dinner and skinwalker sacrifices and elder gods and all that other shit...but let's take a minute just to talk about the ad first since I can give some real commentary on that. I made that ad around the end of 1988. Yes, that was me talking. I was around 50 - sounds young to me now but at the time I felt like I was already old as hell. I had to spend an hour or so in a recording booth in the Broadcast Station up on Bernard Overlook, gave them some pictures and instructions on the ad, and they put it all together for me. It was a service that the station offered to local businesses so I just thought, "why the hell not?". That ad was only on air for a little less than a year obviously, but it seemed like it brought in a fair bit more business than usual. Our motto was goddamn stupid looking back on it but hey, rhymes are popular, people remember 'em, so what do you expect? Now, the reason it took me so long to make this post (if 3 days counts as long, anyway) is because I was digging through some of my old stuff to find the script I used for that ad. The whole ad is long gone, I doubt they have it in their archives or any of that nonsense but I still have the script. I just thought y'all might get a kick out of it, so I found it and I typed it all up and everything: "Hi, my name is Trevor Magnil. I run the Magnil Clothing Store on Main Street in Walker Creek, Washington along with my wife, Julia. We have everything you need from pre-made clothing to custom alterations, and even custom orders that we make from scratch! Get a T-Shirt, some custom fit jeans, a new hat, a beautiful luxury jacket, and so much more, all at great prices! We'll work to find what's best for your style and price range! So come on down to the Magnil Clothing Store! Our motto is: “If you wanna wear it, we'll prepare it!” Visit us on Main Street!" Anyway, it's time to get down to business and talk about Community Dinners. I made a post about 'em once before but I didn't really go into it much. Just said that everyone acted sorta fake and weird and that the food was bad. I guess I'll go into some specifics on what they are exactly: Community Dinners happened a few times a year, sometimes even once a month depending on the WCTB organizers. It was basically like a big town potluck, but sometimes got sponsored by Roy or someone else. You'd get there and everyone would just be shootin' the shit and goofing off and whatever. There'd be a vote for what dishes get brought out first, but I guess anyone who was a skinwalker would get a different card. Then there'd just be a bunch of boring speeches and mindless small talk, and a prayer before the meal, which is the same one you heard. It's pretty carefully worded so that it can really work for Christianity too, which is what every non-skinwalker in Walker Creek practiced. I guess thinking back on it I still should have realized that it was really weird but...I guess people just really don't want to wake up. To be honest, if you think back on some of the crazy stories I've told like my leg injury, the Robert Farm incident, the WCPD encounter, the van in the woods, and a bunch of others, I should have put two and two together way faster. I'm still kicking myself for that one; I'm just lucky I actually got out without too much harm done. Oh and also, the "glory for the harvest star" part on the tape wasn't said by anyone at those dinners. It ended at the "become one across the world" part. It gave me chills to hear that prayer again, knowing the true meaning of it. All of the "Hosted" are sick bastards. To finish this off, I'll just say that there was usually some dancing after the meal. I heard people talking about joining the Hosted program a lot whenever I went to one of those events, so I guess it was used for recruitment too. I don't really have a good way to end it so I'll just sign off. If you have any more questions about Community Dinners then let me know. If you assumed that I'm too old to know about social media then you're wrong: you can contact me on twitter and instagram (and my email) with questions. -Trevor Hey y'all! It's been a while so I think it's time for me to keep sorting through the Walker Creek Media Archive and give y'all my thoughts on it. Last post, I talked about all the 1950's stuff with the WCBS and Louise and everything. It was a bit of a downer. Today's entry hopefully won't be. No promises though. Anyway, it seems like the archive skips out on the 60's but it didn't seem noteworthy I guess. I'll talk about the 4 or so entries from the 1970's today. Luckily there's a lot to talk about with 'em.
To start it off, there's a picture of the Magnil Lumber Co. Warehouse that was apparently taken in '71 That one brings back a lot of memories but it looks more rundown than I remember. Y'all don't even know how much time I had to spend there as a kid and teenager. My dad dragged me out there damn near every day and I even spent a lot of time working out there. Mainly it was a warehouse for processing lumber and part of it was for storage. I think the Carter Company took it over after the sale and still uses it but I haven't kept up. Anyway, it was located around 15 minutes outside of the county. To this day I still don't really know why it had to be all the way out there, but that's just the way it was. I remember seeing it in one of Daniel's old tapes too. Sorta nostalgic to me just like a lot of this media archive stuff. Not always in a good way though. As I said before on this blog, my father was cold and distant from me. I'm sure some of you can relate. Those memories in that warehouse were not the most pleasant or enjoyable or anything of that sort. When I look back, I do think of positive things like childhood and my family but I also think of the negative shit. Being forced to go there, getting yelled at for messing up, doing hard and unpaid labor for the family business until my body damn near gave out, getting frightened by the older lumberjacks, and a lot of other things. I don't wanna go too far into it since it's not relevant to Walker Creek or the archive really but I just wanted y'all to know that it's not all sunshine and rainbows with that. I mean, it's been 60 years since then so it (mostly) doesn't bother me a damn bit anymore but thinking about it still isn't the best. Still interesting to look back on though. Moving onto another thing I wanted to talk about from the 1970's on the archive: the James Lambert Ad. That one just makes me damn angry. That ironic tagline: "A Mayor you can rely on." All I have to say about that: bullshit. He ran the county into the ground in less than a year and got 2 media archive entries. I despise that man, even if he was the one who somehow came the closest to destroying the skinwalker's plan. How incompetent do you have to be to almost destroy the plan of an alien species just by being bad at your job?? Last thing for the 1970's part is the Tom Sorkan ad from '76. The whole thing really just encapsulates what his term was all about. "Vote for Sorkan because he's doing better than Lambert, and who else are you going to elect anyway?" That's basically what his platform was. I know that Sorkan doesn't get talked about too much around Walker Creek and...that's why. He was just unremarkable to put it simply. Right off the tails of Lambert's disaster, he tried to pick up the pieces but he just didn't cut it. Only reason he got re-elected from that ad and then a few more times was because folks were too damn scared of a second Lambert-type Mayor that they'd rather settle for the mediocrity and failures of Sorkan. He didn't really fix the economy. Just cobbled it back together a little and held it in place with duct tape (does that analogy makes sense? I hope so). He tried his hardest at public relations and things like that to make the people like him. Hell, even I liked the guy somewhat even if he irritated me with his mediocrity (and demands in the shop, but that's a story for a different time). Even with that though, he just wasn't notable. And then the ending of his term with "embezzlement" was the nail in the coffin for him just being forgotten. Of course, we know now that he wasn't removed due to simple embezzlement but that's a story for another time. That's all I have for the 1970's part of the archive. I know this is a little shorter than usual but it's all I have for now. I'll try to do a blog about the 1980's part as soon as I can. Hope y'all still enjoyed learning these little bits and pieces of history. - Trevor Hey y'all. Today's topic is gonna be more serious since it's about the newest tape from Daniel. This one was pretty disturbing to me. A lot more than the others. I know I talked once before about Luke Delor and about that whole situation last March. How he went missing in August of '88 and was never found, how his mother was at Rosie's every day afterwards. Just a sad affair in the end, and now knowing what happened to him...it's hard to handle for me and I barely even knew the kid. The pain he was in during that tape was difficult to watch and the fact that he was forced to be some pawn for them is just horrifying. I think he's still out there to this day which makes it worse. I don't even want to think about it really.
In relation to other things, I remember the RHP being talked about a good amount when I lived in Walker Creek. It was just for troubled people and folks with physical issues that needed help and healing. That's what they claimed. Obviously that was a lie. And the worst part is that I knew people who signed up for that damn program. Hell, I even thought about it for a while when my leg was acting up in the early 80's. It's a good thing now that I didn't do it but...I did have this one close friend who signed up. Phil. He was troubled from a lot of things in his childhood. Wasn't able to work through it very well and had some rough times. Night terrors, depression, things like that, Then, he signed up and came back and seemed...better. No more midnight calls when he had a nightmare, no more random bouts of social seclusion. I thought Dr. Spencer was just a truly skilled healer. Between that and how he helped with Julia, I really truly believed that. But...I guess the ones who came back weren't actually themselves anymore. It was all a lie just like everything else I remember from Walker Creek. The last piece I'll talk about is Dr. Charles Spencer himself. It honestly disgusts me to know what he really was. One of those damn aliens (or monsters or whatever they are). I was treated by Dr. Spencer after Dr. Rumlow retired so I knew the doc for a pretty good portion of my life. It sounded sorta like him in the tape but I couldn't tell. Coulda been an assistant. Either way, this just another fond part of Walker Creek getting torn apart for me. I remember when he treated Julia. I remember how much care he took in helping her even until the last day. I remember how he went out of his way to try ways to make things better for her. And now...the idea that this person that I trusted, that I thought of as a truly amazing and selfless human being, that was there to help my wife in the worst of times, was just another one of those things is just sad. That's the only word I can think of. I heard that some of you actually got in contact with him through an email or something like that. I hope it helped with this investigation. Also, maybe one of you can tell that bastard to go to hell for me. I'd appreciate that. I'm sorry if I'm being more blunt in how I'm talking today but I just can't be as precise about this. I don't mean to sound like a broken record but I don't think I'll ever get over how everything in Walker Creek is touched and corrupted by them. Even those last fond memories with Julia. Those skinwalker bastards deserve everything the rebels will throw at them. Every piece of history and every new event that I see just solidifies it in my mind. I'll always do everything I can to bring 'em down. Not like I have much else to look forward to. - Trevor Hey y'all! I'll probably do a few posts talking about the Media Archive thing that you found. Good job on finding it by the way! I know I don't talk much but I still take a look here and there at what y'all are up to. I'm not sure how I'll split up this discussion about the website but for now, I'm just gonna say that all of it was...well, pretty horrible. There were a few little nostalgic things - seeing the Rob's Diner Menu again, a few of the old Mayor ads, and a couple other things was nice. Other than that though it was just saddening and disturbing.
Time to actually talk about stuff though. I'll start with that first WCBS broadcast and just do the other 1950's stuff in this blog post. I don't have much to say really. Just that it's pretty funny to me because I actually remember watching that on TV live in 1952. We'd gotten our television set a few months before to try picking up stations from farther away and I was so excited about a local station popping up. I was 12 years old or so, and I sat wide eyed in front of the TV watching the test broadcast with those images for the first time. I didn't even notice those skinwalker rune things because of the quality. It was nostalgic as hell to see it again even if the context is way more horrifying than before. The Unifier and whatever else it was talking about is interesting but oh boy, it was a blast from the past to see that. Second, that image of the 1959 Harvest Festival. All I'll say is that it's goddamn hilarious to see everyone in those goofy traditional harvest festival clothes. They stopped requiring 'em around the 1960's but before then everyone had these 'ceremonial clothes' that were pretty outdated. It used to be tied to the church and whatnot a lot more, so it was the same sort of concept as Sunday dress. Doesn't matter though, just an entertaining detail there. Onto the important things now: The 1955 Hijacking by that William Thames fellow. I said before that I heard a lot about that one when it happened but that I never actually saw it. I only saw the one with Louise. It always was a mystery in the back of my mind and now 65 years later I finally get to see it. I guess it's nice to get resolution on that. It was pretty similar to Louise's hijacking in my opinion but it's got some differences in the way William talks. I can see why people got scared outta their goddamn minds from it. And also speaking of Louise, her hijacking isn't there on the media archive. I'm talking about the one from the 1955 Harvest Festival that I sent Daniel. It's just completely gone. No mention of it or anything. So...it seems like somehow I got the only copy and now Daniel has it. Still a mystery to me why it showed up on my doorstep. It's one question that I might never be able to answer. But there's a positive to it I think. It means that we have something that they don't. We know something they don't. There's some food for thought for you folks. There's other stuff about Louise besides just that. There was a photo of her escaping the home. The first archive said that she broke into that place, learned a bunch, and then escaped to start a rebellion. That entry on the private archive matches up with when she started acting all weird and different around me and everyone else. I still don't know how she did it. I mean, she was a pretty good hunter since she lived on a farm and everything, but it's just sorta surprising that she got into such a high security place. Come to think of it, I might have a picture or two of her from around then from hunting trips. I'll go dig around for 'em later. Anyway, the only other thing with her was that last photo. That last goddamn photo. "The Final Moments of Louise Peterson". Jesus Christ. It makes me sick to look at. 65 years since she went missing but it hurts to look at just as it would have back then. It's just...horrible. Disgusting. Disturbing. I hate it. I hate it so much that I can't even find the right words. She didn't deserve that fate. I knew the outcome for the past ~60 years, I knew what happened but...actually seeing her like that is something else. It's hard to deal with, folks. I wasn't expecting to have to see or think about it any more than I already had from that recording and from the whole ordeal with it in January but...there it is taunting me. Those shapeshifting bastards deserve everything they get from that man Topas and the other rebels. I'll talk about all of that soon though, not right now. I've already been writing for a while and I'm just real riled up at the moment. I'm gonna go take a break. Maybe go on a hike to clear my head. I hope this was insightful to y'all. - Trevor Hey y'all! I heard about that Media Archive, I'm gonna look through it soon and write some stuff. First though, I wanna finish up what I started last blog with Donald Elmor and the Theater that I mentioned.
As you would expect in a small town like Walker Creek, the movie theater was basically the most popular place in the whole county. It was very old fashioned, kinda dirty, and it only had three auditoriums, but it was still pretty great in the eyes of everyone. It didn't always have the most up to date movies - movies from anywhere between 2 and 20 years earlier played all the time. Every once in a while, plays from the school or from various other organizations were put on there. As I mentioned last blog, the theater was run by Donald Elmor. I had never really met him before the encounter in the Inn from the last blog but after that, he got the idea that he was my friend in a way. Anytime I'd walk by the theater when he was welcoming people at the door, I'd get my ear talked off, I'd be bombarded with requests to come to the theater and so many other things. It was nice of him and I feel bad about this but - I completely avoided the theater after that. What you have to understand is that I was never a very social person. I was fine in the shop but outside of that, I never really cared for socializing. I had friends, I had a wife, I had people I liked well enough to talk to, and that was all I needed. I didn't want my ear talked off by anyone and none of them did that to me. It also didn't help that I don't even care for the theater. Films are nice enough but VHS's and DVD's in my house are good enough for me, I don't need to be packed in an auditorium with a bunch of other people to watch something. So basically those 2 things combined meant that Mr. Elmor was not a good combination for me. So I avoided it. From 1974 until I left in 1989, I almost never went by there or went in. I walked on the other side of Main Street, kept my head down, etc. Every once in a while there'd be a play or a brand new film that was worth it like the original Star Wars trilogy but that was it. I feel bad looking back - he was just lonely but I didn't want to deal with someone like that. At the end of the day though, it was a shitty thing to do and I probably shouldn't have but oh well. What's done is done. Anyway, there's a memory for you. That's all I have for today's blog. Hope y'all enjoyed it! If you have anything specific you want to see me talk about, let me know. - Trevor Hey y'all! It's been a while, I hope everyone's doing okay. Today, I wanted to talk about the Walker Creek Inn. Not for any particular reason but just because someone suggested that I should talk about more different locations and this one story with the Inn popped into my head. Anyway, here goes.
This story takes place around 1974 if I recall correctly. There was a gas leak near my house and we had to leave for the day. Thanks a lot, Lambert. Don't get me started on him...Anyway, Julia and I had to stay at the Walker Creek Inn for a day. Before that, I wasn't really familiar with the place. It seemed nice, and I had met Tammy before at the shop, but I don't think I had ever even set foot in there. Always surprised the hell out of me that we had enough folks visiting Walker Creek to keep the place in business. It's a nice building, it's a light blue or maybe white wooden exterior. When I was there, it was mainly bright red and green wallpaper and carpets but who knows what it's like now. Anyway, Julia and I registered a room with a balcony and a TV and everything around 6:00. We got all settled in, showered, sat down to relax, and then we heard this...thudding. I turned to her, told her I'd check it out, and off I went to knock on the door of the room next door. Before we continue, I should say this: I know what you're probably thinking: skinwalkers, torturing, death, horror. But don't get your hopes up - this isn't that kind of story, y'all. Back to the Inn - I was standing there in a bathrobe since the gas issue had kept me from showering all day. So I definitely did not want to be there any longer than I had to, but...we don't always get what we want though, I'll say that much. This short, scruffy man, who I later learned was named Mr. Elmor, apparently lived in the Inn due to some...marital issues. It looked like he'd been exercising since he had a jump rope in his hands. That's not where this story ends though - Mr. Elmor decided that I was a good candidate to talk to for a whole hour. Living in a Bed and Breakfast probably gets lonely so I don't blame him but even then, it was one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. I learned more than anyone probably should about him in that hour. After I came back to the room, Julia told me she'd been listening in and then she laughed at my misfortune for at least twenty minutes before we went back to our normal activities. God, I miss that laugh. I miss her. Anyway, why am I telling this story? I don't really know to be honest - it's just a notable that's memory from Walker Creek. I used to do that kinda of thing a lot more, and they're nice. I'm living up to the blog name again. This story also helps to set up what my next blog entry will be - the Walker Creek Theater. I'm keeping on a theme with locations for now. My encounter with Mr. Elmor and his inclination to talk to me led me to avoid the Theater at all costs but I have a few good stories to tell from there. That's all for today though, hope y'all are entertained! As always, let me know if you have requests. - Trevor |
