Hey y'all, it's been a while! I hope everyone's doing okay. I'm staying safe from the storm here in Texas, don't you worry about me.
Today's blog post is gonna have a double purpose. I always write a blog to give more context to Daniel's tapes, but history is something I already talked about a lot here. So I'm gonna be talking about a 2nd thing today too - the Walker Creek Historical Society. Someone told me last week that there was some speech in Walker Creek by a member of that organization. Doesn't really matter to the investigation but it's a piece of information to keep in mind I guess. Anyway, I'll be talking about both of those. First, the tape. Started with an ad for the Hunting and bait store back in Walker Creek. Nothing special there, just an ad with high energy bullshit. I never liked that store really. Anyway, the rest of the tape is just a history program. And a girl eating another human...looked like somewhere in Denton based on the architecture. Watching that tape was not fun, to put it simply. I can explain some backstory for y'all though. I know it'll help After Mayor Brown got in office, a lot of stuff changed. You've all seen some of it through Daniel's tapes. Mainly those changes were good things for the time I was there, but big changes nonetheless. One of those things was the broadcast station. There were new educational programs - I didn't watch em though. I didn't need education about Walker Creek and I didn't have kids so I never really saw any of them. Until now, at least. It went through a lot of stuff I didn't know, mainly the skinwalker history. It was accurate to what I knew about our town history, but it was just...offputting. It was difficult to see all of that history from their perspective. I grew up knowing our town history by heart. Being proud of it. How John Sanders built Walker Creek from scratch, how we grew larger and larger and how my family helped with that. And I was there for the economic crisis and the impeachment of Lambert and Sorkan and all those other crazy events. I didn't like watching that tape. Everything I had known being corrupted by the fact that all of it was orchestrated by them. Touched by them. Controlled by them. I don't know. It's just crazy, that's all. 3 months into this and I'm still shocked every time I see something. I want to move on from that part though. Let's talk about something a bit more lighthearted. The Walker Creek Historical Society was always an interesting little part of Walker Creek. Never really got much recognition or care for the time I was there. I mean, they're not even in the Archive that y'all found, so that tells you something. I mean to put it simply - they were a bunch of damn nerds. Nobody cared about 'em. They obsessed over every little detail of Walker Creek's history, even though it was still a pretty young town without much to obsess over. Didn't even get created until the 60's or something. They controlled the Sanders Mine Historical Park pretty much. Even though the local government maintained it, they had free reign. Fundraisers, speeches, events, whatever, it was all created by them. They did similar stuff with Bernard Overlook and a few other places. They wrote books, created TV programs (probably including the one Daniel uploaded). I don't know if they actually were important for the skinwalker plan or if they really were just a bunch of overly excited scholars like we all thought. Doesn't matter though. Looks like they're still alive and kicking according to that event from last week. Never heard of Tony Watman, so I can't help explain that speech. But hey, if they end up being important later then now you know a least a little bit about them. That's all I have for today; don't know what else to talk about really. I'll try to write more standalone blogs soon at least, I know y'all want me too. I've just been dealing with some issues in my garden recently that have been taking my time, so I apologize for that. Thanks for sticking by me and I'll see y'all later! Also, before I leave - if you're a fellow Texan, stay safe! I know it's pretty difficult right now but we'll pull through. - Trevor

Today's entry is not about any tapes, but true to the name of this blog, it is a memory of Walker Creek. This is one thing that's been keeping me up at night for the past day or two, to be honest. All these revelations and the horrific information from the tourism Bureau has been stirring up my memories a bit. Back in 1988, around November or so, I was out late to go to the Walker Creek General Store to get something for Julia. Hell if I remember what. Anyhow, when I came out of the store, there was this van parked near the treeline a few yards away. Two guys wearing all black were standing around near it, arguing about something. When I got closer to them to get in my car, they were staring at me all...strangely. As I was about to drive away, they walked up to my car and knocked on the window. They gave me the creeps to be honest but I rolled it down to talk to 'em. One of them asked me if I had seen a man run into the woods anytime recently. I told them no, I hadn't seen anything. Then, he asked me something stranger...his exact words were, "Have you ever noticed that something is wrong with this town?". My answer of course was, "No, what do you mean?". Despite what I had seen or what I knew, I wasn't about to talk about anything to these two strange men. He just chuckled and told me to forget about it. Then as they were walking away, the second man - the one that hadn't spoken at all - turned back. He said, "Come find us if you do notice it." And that was it. They drove off and I never saw them or that van again. I know it's a small, strange encounter that might mean nothing but...their question to me has been echoing around in my head for days. My questions about them keep me up at night. Who were those men? Why were they asking me those questions? Who were they following into the woods? My best guess was that...it was the rebellion. They were hunting someone, or something. It seems like they tried to recruit me, and I essentially said no. At least I hope that was the situation. That it was the rebels chasing one of them, because the opposite is far, far worse. God, just thinking about all of this is hard. 3 months ago I was writing blog entries about happy days in Walker Creek with my rose tinted goggles on, and now I'm thinking whether or not the people I talked to one random night were violent rebels chasing down a shapeshifting alien, or shapeshifting aliens chasing down violent rebels. Maybe I'll try to write down some other happy memories soon. I miss doing that.
- Trevor Louise Peterson was a bit older than me. I knew her here and there from school and some events. She was nice from my encounters, she was always fun to talk to and I considered her a friend. When I was 14 or 15 she started being real introverted. Stopped talkin’ to people, stopped going out, stopped volunteering around the community and everything. Then, the hijackings started. I'll take you back to Walker Creek, 1955. September 16 (according to the archive). I didn't see it for myself but it was the talk of the town. Apparently, some spooky guy in a mask appeared on everyone's TV's during the community updates program on the WCBS. Talked about science fiction monsters taking over the town. A lot of people got scared, a lot of people got worried, and a lot of people were really mad about it. But at the same time it was all sort of unspeakable. Everyone was scared of getting in trouble and nobody really knew what was happening. It was difficult to think about so folks just...stopped thinking about it. Forgot it ever happened.
Then about a month later for the 1955 Harvest Festival, there was another one. This time a girl. One that I did see. I was excited as hell for the festival that night, watching the news to see any scrap of information about what might be coming. And then she appeared on screen. Louise. I still don't really know how she did it. Hijacking TV sounds difficult especially in the 50s. I guess the "hosts" can answer that one. At the end, things didn't look too good for her. After that broadcast I stopped watching the WCBS. I know I've mentioned on this blog that I never really payed attention to it and, well, there's your reason why. Louise disappeared after that. People were even more terrified than they were after the first hijacking and tensions were high. Then, with the snap of their fingers, the WCBS made it all go away. The wording they used was "experimental entertainment program" if I remember correctly. Like the War of the Worlds radio program that caused outrage in the 30's. So just like that, everyone forgot. Even if they didn't believe the WCBS, it was easier to forget. It was less stressful and less terrifying. I know because I did it myself all the way until now. Now there's one last piece to this puzzle I haven't explained. How did I have this recording? Well, believe it or not, a film strip just showed up on my doorstep. I know that explanation sounds disappointing and believe me, I want to know more just as much as you do. It was a few years after the hijacking, after I met Julia but before we got married. I suppose the WCBS had recorded the broadcast for themselves, since recording from TV's wasn't possible for normal folks until later. It's a question that's always haunted me though...who gave it to me? Was it because I was a slight friend of Louise? I had tried my hardest to just forget about all of it before it arrived, and I tried even harder afterwards. Now that I'm here facing the truth, helping Daniel, joining the internet mystery hunter chats, I realized that I have to face it. I shouldn't have been holding it back from y'all and I'm sorry I did. I don't know if it helped but I just wanted to get it out there. There's no point in ignoring it any longer. After getting it, I locked it away in a box in my closet and kept moving it around with me until now. I sent a message to Daniel, managed to ship it to him, he got it converted, and now y'all have seen the same thing I did 65 years ago. Anyway, there's everything I have about that recording. I'm sorry I didn't bring this to y'all sooner. If you have more questions, there's a lot of ways to reach me. - Trevor Today's entry will be...a little different than it usually is. This one isn't about a memory of Walker Creek or the investigation or anything of that sort. Today, I have a confession to make.
I haven't been entirely forthright in these blog posts. Or about my part in this investigation of Walker Creek. There's more than one reason that I've cast my lot with y'all. Not just for curiosity or for fun or catharsis or for any other vain reason like I've mentioned before. There's more to it. A long, long time ago, I saw something I shouldn't have. Something that's stuck with me for all my long years. A skeleton in my closet, so to speak, not that I did anything wrong. It's just...you'll have to see for yourself. I didn't tell y'all because, well, it was easier not to. It was easier to ignore it and try to forget. In the end though...that's selfish. Seeing your dedication, your mystery hunter chat, talking with y'all, and having your many questions bring those deeply buried memories back up to the surface...it made me realize what I had to do. Now, I'm doing the right thing for once. I have something to show you all. Something that will hopefully help. I sent it to Daniel over a week ago now so you should be seeing it soon. I hope you all forgive me for not revealing what I had sooner. - Trevor Hey y'all! I promised a few weeks ago that the next blog entry would be about the election between Brown and Ederson, and that it would be important. So here it is.
Alan Brown had been makng a name for himself in Walker Creek for a while by '88. He was older, about 35 or 40 at the time. He'd been a member of the town council since before I was paying attention to politics. Always seemed competent, but not much of a people person if you know what I mean. Ran a ton of ads on TV, worked with major organizations, the whole deal. Ederson on the other hand was a bit...different. Ederson was in his 20's when he ran. He was just a normal guy who started doing some volunteer work and becoming a community leader in his own right. A real social guy and the opposite of Brown, to say the least. People liked him, he helped them, overall seemed to me like the right choice (even though his actual political plans weren't too good in my opinion). Anyway, he decided to run after a few years of that because he had enough of the corruption and shitty leadership from Walker Creek since the 70's. It was honestly a surprise to me that Ederson lost - I figured that after the hardship of town bankruptcy (which the council did nothing to fix), that the people would reject a member of the worthless council and let Ederson take the reigns. At the end of the day though, looks like the actual rulers of the county didn't let that happen. They wanted him gone. The bad leadership seemed to be the public reason for Ederson's campaign but the truth was...well...it was related to this mystery like everything else in the whole damn county. Everything ties back to it somehow. I suspect that they rigged it. Or maybe Brown's ad spending actually managed to get him to win fair and square. Either way, it's done now. What it seems like is that Ederson joined the rebellion. He was with the same people that hijacked the broadcast station. The "infection" he talked about wasn't just corruption and shitty politicians. He knew something a lot deeper. Something that I didn't know until only a month ago even after living there for the first 40 years of my life. It's surreal to think about it. All of that stuff under the surface, right in front of us. Even an innocuous mayoral election was about so much more and we didn't even know. Ederson talked a lot in his speeches about an infection in the town, that the people in charge didn't have our best interests in mind, how they had to take the town back, that we didn't know what their plan really entailed, and that they had spread their influence further than we could ever imagine. It all seemed pretty normal when talking about a corrupt government but with the lens of what we know now, it seems a lot more serious. He was shouting into the wind and nobody knew just how right he was. After it was over, they said that Ederson conceded and skipped town, looking for greener pastures. Didn't seem too impossible to me, so I went with it like everyone else. Looks like that wasn't true. Such a shame he didn't win. The situation right now might be different somehow. Not just this small group of investigators. But...maybe we can continue what he started. Who knows? - Trevor My back hurts like hell but I'm on a mission to write about all the tapes from Daniel and goddamn I'm gonna finish it. I only have 2 of these left.
I've been thinking about all this. Y'know, the shapeshifters and the missing people and everything. I've seen your Archive thing and it's just hard to accept. But in my heart, deep down, I know it's all true. It hurts to realize that. I know y'all reading this blog don't care - you didn't live there, you're not phased by it like I am. Or Daniel too. We're in the same boat, just 60 or so years apart. I want to help y'all, and that's why I'm doing this. I don't know if it actually helps or anything. Feedback would be nice. But anyway, I know I should quit whining. It's just that 4th tape. I was part of the Walker Creek Hunting Association myself. They ran the Hunting & Bait store, seemed like nice people to be honest. I forget the name of the guy who led it....doesn't matter though. Guess he was an alien too. Even the most innocent, nice things about Walker Creek are twisted now. Hunting, friendly people, the Harvest Festival even. The tape says they hunt people down during it. I started this blog with nostalgia and rose tinted glasses but now that's shattered. The only reason I'm even still here is to help Daniel and solve this mystery. It'd be nice to see the end of this before I die. Once it's over though, I don't see the point in this blog. Remembering Walker Creek isn't really a nice thing to me anymore. I'm rambling way too much and for that I'm sorry. Next time I'll write about the whole election between Ederson and Brown. This blog probably wasn't helpful to anyone but I guarantee the next one will be. - Trevor Happy holidays to everyone. I'm not doing much celebrating but I hope y'all are having a good time. I'm continuing with my blogs about Daniel's tapes. Finally talked to him a few days ago, that was nice. I'm thinking about joining all you mystery hunters in your chat group or whatever it's called. Don't know if I should though....send me an email.
Anyway, the third tape was the one about the broadcast tower security upgrades. I remember when these went into effect. It was after that boy Trenson kept hijacking the station. I didn't watch much, didn't care for it and it creeped me out sometimes. I know that the broadcast station was on Bernard Overlook. It was this big hill/mountain thing a few miles away from Waterfield Park. Still not anywhere near civilization, just out in the wilderness. The tower was in a big fenced off area of that park. I went near it once or twice on hikes. It didn't have much security until late '88 when that tape happened. It cost a lot of money for those changes. Taxes went up the next year, trying to cover it I guess. I will say, I don't like this whole shapeshifter thing. It's freaky as hell and just hard to believe. I can't think of any alternative though. The tapes and those websites and whatever all point to one answer. I lost a lot of people livin' there. It gives me chills to think about how they really might have gone. I just don't like this all one bit. I'll do another blog soon, I'm really damn behind on giving y'all information. Hopefully this helps. - Trevor Hey y'all! I'm gonna continue my blogs about those tapes now. It's hard to stomach 'em but I'll try to keep going, since everyone says it helps. With that second one, I already talked about a lot of it. Luke, the WCPD, and those hijackings, I talked about both of 'em in other blogs. Can't believe I just wrote it all off as random unimportant shit. The truth is out now.
Anyway, the last thing I didn't touch on was the lock down walker Creek thing. That idea started in the late 70's. After the bankruptcy, and when that useless mayor Sorkan didn't fix a damn thing, the police came up with the brilliant idea that instead of fixing the economy there, they'd just lock up everyone who was struggling. I'll be honest, there was a pretty big crime wave after 1972. It was not a great town to live in again until probably the mid-1980's. Lots of theft, homeless, etc. The well off townfolk did their best to help but it was just extreme. Lambert screwed everything up BIG TIME. The police decided that to solve this problem, they'd install cameras, curfews, tons of paperwork for everyone to fill out to gather info, increase police, etc. It was creepy at times, all the surveillance and everything. I don't know if they ever backed off of that to be honest, I left just as the lock down thing was hitting its stride. They had just installed a ton of cameras on Main Street and other important places. Brown started to fix up the county so in 1989 the talk about more security started to die down more. But that was just about new additions. All the stuff they already made stayed. I'm glad I got out of there a lot of times. Anyway, that's all I got. If you have questions my email is always open. - Trevor So, following up on my promise from last blog. The tapes are ominous and creepy as hell, but maybe if I expand on them they'll be a little bit less scary. Who knows.
There's 4 main things to focus on here: The Walker Creek Tourism Bureau, the different attractions, the alert, and Luke Delor. The Tourism Bureau formed around 15 years before that tape. I always saw it as a waste of money - our county wasn't big enough to have some sort of tourist scene. Nobody else saw much point in it either. It makes more sense that their purpose is to try to get more people to kill or whatever they do though. Now for those attractions - they're talking about a few different places around Walker Creek. That bar was Rosie's and the club they mentioned is the Star Club. Never liked the place, way too damn loud but some people enjoyed it. Enough for it to stay in business at least. It does seem misleading for them to say Bars and Clubs though since there's only one of each. Marketing strategy I guess. Stargazing in Walker Creek was nice. Everyone always hoped for a glimpse of the Harvest Star even though it never came. But overall there wasn't much light pollution or anything so it was a good spot for it. As for the restaurant, it was Rob's Diner. There's only one movie theater in town that doubles as a normal theater for plays and whatnot. And those woods...I don't know exactly where they are. There's too many forests around Walker Creek, there's no way for me to know. The alert is somethin' interesting. See, those kind of alerts only came on for severe weather or if there was some major event - like when a mob formed during the 1972 Harvest Festival and tried to attack the Mayor. That kinda thing. But this was a pretty weird one - I never watched late at night so maybe that's why I never saw these but who knows. And finally, Luke. Jesus Christ, I wish I could unsee that. I remember when he went missing - his mother in hysterics and search parties and everything. Truly just a horrible situation. And to find out it was some plan by our government, and that they stole his body and god knows what else...it makes me sick. But I guess it did something. It made me realize what was happening, made me decide to join the fight. So there you go. I hope this helped y'all. I'm tired after writing so much. - Trevor So after my last blog post, I had someone reach out to me and tell me about that boy, Daniel Shephard. Looks like he's trying to solve the mystery of Walker Creek and stuff like that. I watched all the tapes and I've been thinkin' back on my own life. Y'all know I've talked about weird things on this blog before, so I know there's something off in that town, as much as I like to deny it. And I haven't talked to Daniel but he seems like he's worth helping. But here's my proposition to you mystery hunters helping him: I'll write blogs, try to shed new light on these tapes of yours and help you with whatever information I can. I've got nothing else to do, I'm just sitting alone and working in my garden every day, that's it. And I don't mind solving the mystery of Walker Creek either y'know. Might as well find out the truth about my life before I go. So if that sounds good to you, let me know. Y'all don't know as much about Walker Creek so you can probably use all the help you can get. To anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry about it. The blogs will just be a little different for a while.
